It can be daunting to look into therapy, and to not know what to expect, even if you've been in therapy before. Every experience is unique, but here is a general overview of what you can expect;
Our first session: Intakes can feel a bit scattered, and are not typical therapy sessions. During this appointment, I will do a comprehensive evaluation of you, your life, and your goals. We will discuss the direction of treatment we will take together, and what I should be aware of as your therapist.
Following sessions: I will provide a gentle space with skills guidance while we explore what makes you yourself, and what you would like to change/see change in your life. We will discuss what does and does not serve you in effective communication, self respect, and emotional regulation. I actively participate in sessions, AND remind you that often in therapy what you get out is directly correlated to what you put in. I hope to help you find what isn't working for you, and identify ways to move forward with what does.
